                     : or : wedding poem

                                in which the Fiancé

tells me how they drink coffee from saucers

in France—that’s interesting.

                                       Now kiss yr dumb husband.

before you move to Pittsburgh:

Feed me soup in the kitchen the two of you

eat Saturdays                         in,       spit

in my mouth next to wine bottles the labels

the love of your life

                             is soaking off,

a centerpiece for every table set. Yeah yr India henna shit,

& kiss yr damn husband.

Now everybody laugh—
